Remade – Accessories

I like thinking about accessories really differently from how they’re typically viewed. For one thing, it’s a lot more fun. The main reason is that it allows me to explore ways to reuse “debris” from the fashion trade, because I don’t think like, “earrings go in ears, necklaces go on necks, ties go on shirts, etc” – that’s not helpful thinking. Sure, there are issues of durability & comfort, but as long as you are accounting for those, you should be fine.

Some works in progress this spring:

This is a hat, believe it or not. It’s made of broken jewelry, the painted arm of a cast-off leather jacket, some scraps of scarf, and a large eyeball constructed of a half-marble for flower arranging. Besides being a hat, it has a name: this is ‘NPC With Overly Complicated Backstory’.

This tie-necklace is also made from broken jewelry, broken metal mesh, and a clip on tie. It’s wearable as a clip on, or on the necklace as shown. This is ‘You Want Arcane Knowledge, Just Admit it’
